Barium sulfate, particularly GemmeFine and GemmeWhite products, significantly enhance powder coatings by reducing titanium dioxide usage, improving surface characteristics, and increasing chemical resistance.

Barium sulfate is the main body pigment, accounting for 70% of the body pigment, other such as talc powder, kaolin, mica powder, bentonite, quartz powder and other body pigments are mainly used as functional fillers. Therefore, the quality of barium sulfate directly determines the quality of powder coating.
Powder coatings are one of the fastest-growing markets in the paint industry, with GemmeFine occupying a significant position due to its unique properties. Its use effectively reduces the amount of titanium dioxide pigment used, thereby decreasing the excessive spray of fine-ground powder, improving surface characteristics, and reducing the so-called "orange peel" phenomenon. GemmeFine barium sulfate is particularly important in white paint applications, as it not only increases the specific gravity but also enhances the coatings' chemical resistance. Due to GemmeFine's excellent brightness, up to 30% of the titanium dioxide can be replaced in the formula without affecting coverage and gloss.
GemmeWhite micro-fine barium sulfate products are widely used in a variety of powder coatings formulations due to their low oil absorption and convenient application properties.
